Charity Computers
There is a mob in Canberra called Charity computers, they take unwanted PC's and Macs and re-furb them to be given to kids who can't afford computers. The only thing that they ask is that it is in working order. the link to the site is: Welcome to Charity Computers Australia | Charity Computers
The other recycling place that I am aware of is renew - they take all old pc's, even the dead ones. don't know their addess - out near Mugga Lane Tip.

Hi, I am wanting to dispose of a 21" Apple Mac Studio Monitor.
It has been great, until recently it has begun to flicker and occasionally fade out.
I contacted a few of the recycle places in Sydney, but they were not interested.
Can someone suggest where I can take it to be recycled (in Sydney) or maybe someone wants it for parts or repair it.
Thanks.

I've googled around wanting to get rid of some old furniture and computer gear and found these guys:
1800EWASTE - Australia's largest electronic waste recycler
They also have a general rubbish service called 1300rubbish. Not sure how good either of their service is as I haven't used them yet but it certainly seems like a another option.

Sydneysiders, here's a chance to offload your old tech for nothing.
Apple Inc Australia and the Holroyd Council are holding a free drop-off weekend at the Auburn Baseball carpark ( 29 Tavistock St, Auburn) on October 18th and 19th from 9am to 4pm.
Products accepted for recycling include any brand of computer, laptop, TV, monitor, printer, mobile phone or any other computer-related materials. You don't have to be a resident of the Council, either, all are welcome.
For more information, contact the Holroyd Council offices on 9840 9642.

I personally would prefer to support non-for-profit groups as opposed to commercial companies, but will post all (since this is a forum!) [/quote]
