I have the strange, but nevertheless overwhelming desire to eat that Mcbook. I have no idea why.

Out of interest, what is the book sitting on the Dell monitor?

My set-up in Japan, which I just neatened up. There's a PC under the TV acting as a very expensive DVD player and Linux test box. Since I don't have room for using both my 20" monitors, the second one is connected to the PC. You can also see the IP phone router and cable modem underneath the PC. I'm very good at hiding cables

`Underground' by Suelette Dreyfus. A great book about 80s BBS's and hacking in Australia. You can download it in PDF form from - http://www.underground-book.com/

The desk is originally from Ikea - the Galant series. You can buy all different bits for them. I found this one one eBay and got it from there. New you're probably looking to pay between $600 and $800 for the setup I have - I haven't actually checked.

And aa... yeah, but the Springwood store has such a poor range compared to the ones down south. I noticed they are building a new one though south of Springwood near Ormeau.

You neat freaks put me to shame .....

One of my teachers told me that a tidy desk is a sign of an empty mind, so going on that premise, I must have a very full mind. Exactly what it is full of is quite another question, but about once a year the accumulation of shite on my desk gets to me and I reduce it by a few percent.

My desk is about to get more fuller (if thats the rigght term to use) as I've just applied to get my ham radio licence back after a break of a few years. VK4YEH if anyone is interested ( at least that was my old callsign and it seems to still be available now).

Now, what do I move to make room for the HF rig. Oh wait a minute, I told Marg there wouldnt be any more electronics on the desk ......... lemmme seee ..... ahh yes under the desk behind the drawers looks good. Or maybe hidden in the bottom paper drawer of the printer .....

Where did I hide all that aluminium tubing for the 6m antenna .... ?

Oh dear, it seems that we will have to sell up and move so that I can accomodate all the essential electronics of this houshold. Not to mention the train set, the radio controlled helicopter, the mecanno, the leggo, the emac that my new grandson will just have to have when he visits his boring old grandparents.

Life just gets so hard .......

tidy desk or bed ....... tidy desk or bed ........ tidy desk or bed ?????

sorry guys, bed wins tonight, and most other nights

cheers
Tim R

Believe me that it takes considerable effort to keep it that neat...

Behind the wall behind my G5 is a cupboard FULL of drawers full of all my miscellaneous cables, papers and other shit The shot doesn't include all the stuff I took off the desks and whatnot to make it look nicer either.

I've decided this time I'm going to live in a neat and clean apartment. I just like the feeling of coming home to a place that hasn't got stuff all over the floor, tables and whatnot.

Okay, I have only had my G5 for almost 2 months now (first ever Mac) I've added some G4's to the mix (setup as a cluster)

I have replaced the G3 with a SGI Octane with more on the way.

Sulpher
Just wondering what you are running on the cluseter? And the octane for that matter ?

Slightly updated... Got my ninth and final Matrix poster done. Very hard to get a good photo of this area.
