The one on the left is the PPC isn't it? the guys never said which was which, but assuming the title of the video is correct, Im guessing the PPC won.
Edit: I stand corrected

There is something seriously wrong with that guys PPC imac. No imac should take that long. I actually compared my powerbook against the intel bootup and it was slower by 3 - 4 seconds. Pretty lame!
Just in case ppl get confused...the intel on the left, ppc on the right. Left won! aka intel. Whatever!

I rarely need to reboot mine so can't say how long it takes but since the Intel one was fresh out of the box (mentioned in the dialog) I suspect it didn't have a lot of the services that were running on the PPC. I don't doubt the speed difference but that video did seem a little dodgy.

I agree, something is definitely fishy about that G5. My iMac G4 boots faster than that. I would say that some deliberate sabotage was inflicted on the PPC to make it load reeaaaalllyyyy slllllooooowww.

My 867mhz 12" PBG4 takes *bloody ages* before even the white bootup screen appears. But with a G5 machine like that... there's definitely something wrong

that is totally crap. My wintel machine boos faster than that.
I have a Rev A iMac G5 1.8ghz and it takes 35seconds to boot (auto login). (i timed it yes)
i just timed that vidoe and the intel took 36seconds (the same as my imac G5 Rev A 1.8ghz PPC). The PPC on that video took 1:40minutes, which is just unrealistic.
you can get a long boot up. When you do a clean out of your cache etc using a program such as OnyX it will take a very long time to boot. But after one boot it runs smooth and fast again. This applies to all intel and PPC.

The video is correct, the G5 iMac 2.1GHz takes a long time to boot.

Is it my imagination or does one of the guys in the video sound like the large nerdy guy that worked in the office on the show "Just Shoot Me".
And my 867Mhz G4 boots quicker than that G5 imac,
I smell a rather large rodent

That's pretty suspect, my Mac Mini boots faster than that.
Edit: Me and a mate just timed ours... He has an iMac G5 (iSight) and I have a Mac Mini.
His iMac G5 took 46 seconds to login screen, where as the Intel in that video took 36 seconds to login screen.
My Mac Mini (1.42) took 1:10 to desktop and dock appearing. The iMac G5 in the video took about 1:35 to desktop and dock appearance.
Definitely something wrong with it.

Probably a corrupted hard drive, and the iMac was running fsck to repair it.
edit: My 1.5Ghz PowerBook takes around 45 seconds to boot from hitting the power switch to seeing the login window appear.
