Hi all

So, the new quad have benchmarked 150+ in Xbench 1.2

Had a look at the Xbench website (don't run 10.3 so couldn't run it myself) - ibooks equivalent to mine are weigh in in at a heft 6.something.... ...so that means that the new machines are 25 times faster that mine...

Really, really looking forward to getting a new iMac

So - anyone care to show off their numbers? Anyone think they can get less than mine on a machine they actually use? :P Or you could just feel free to let me know what a fool I am for trying to use such outdated technology...

(Note: you'll have to test using xbench 1.2 because they changed the benchmark quite drastically)

Takes those xbench scores with a grain of salt as the program is not proficient in testing multiple procesor machines.

X-Bench is FULL OF SHIT

It's numbers are meaningless, it either doesn't weight its categories at all or it weights them in the most brain dead way imaginable.

Its a bunch of meaningless numbers designed to give fan boys erections.

Pay more attention to real world based benchmarks like cinebench and such.
