Lightbulb

I went to the apple center and Next Byte in Adelaide a few hours ago.

I've been told there is no stock for PB 15" Australia wide.

Poor apple! I've placed an order and have to wait at least 2 weeks.

They are probably all having a battery change...
(All the 15"pB's that is, not Apple.)

i think the battery issue only effected earlier 15" AlBooks and not anything in production at the moment - mine and my mate's at work are fine and we got ours about 4-8 weeks ago.

apple's supply chain is just not very effecient sometimes

hope the wait isn't too long, but ring around some of the other resellers, especially the online ones...macshack.com.au, macmall.com.au, apple.com.au

I checked and the battery problem doesn't affect any of the current models of pBook. The batteries in the current model pBooks are model No: A1078 and thus not affected by the "catch on fire and burn to death" problem that has been reported. Do not fear, little ones. :P

Perhaps they are all being retrofitted with dual core Freescale G4s? ;p

I just rang David Jones in Melbourne to see where my powerbook that I ordered 2 weeks is. I upgraded the RAM, video card and hard drive and they said it will be up to another 2 weeks because of delays
