not sure the mods will like this one

Incidentally. Is it just coincidence that all the girls in the photos at the top of the page live in my area?

How do they know where I live?

I thought having a Mac would prevent this sort of privacy invasion shite.

IP Tracing software.
But I hide behind the firewall of my router. Are you telling me that from the address of my router they can tell what country/state/city/suburb I am at?

yes...

from what i understand IP's are divided into "Regions" being in AU and with iinet i usually get a 202.* or 203.* IP i doesn't take much to translate the IP that the request is coming from into a rough region and translate that into a customized ad.

I would think that if they where really dedicated that they could tell which ISP you are from (most ISP's are given a dedicated range of IP's to hand out to clients) but not much more.

Bart, you're on the net, you have an ip address that resolves to something ending in .au. Yeah, we can figure out where you are

Well at least they're not reading my location from data on my computer... That only happened when I was on Windows.
