Default Desktop publishing freeware for small job

Hi, I've used Pagemaker extensively in the past but am a decade out of touch with 'professional' packages (e.g. InDesign) - and besides don't have one.

I need to put together a small booklet (maybe 30 pp of text with an insert of maybe 30 pics with say four-six per page).

It doesn't have to be too flash as it really is a simple layout job with very little creativity needed. But I need it 'yesterday'.

And free.

Suggestions pleeeeease!

TIA,
Grahame

Pages.

Free trial download here (gives you 30 days to finish the project): Apple - iWork - Download a 30-day trial of iWork.

I think Pages is better than InDesign for some jobs.

I completely agree. It's not widely used, but Pages is, in fact, very powerful creative software.
