Fabrix Cases iPhone case

I've never been a huge fan of iPhone cases or iPod cases for that matter, covering up their beautiful design almost seems sacrilegious to me. None the less when I purchased my original iPhone a year ago I tried a couple of glove styled models but found them cumbersome and annoying more than anything else and their protective function didn't outweigh my lust for Apple's form resulting in their prompt disposal.

Enter the iPhone case from Fabrix Cases. Taking a completely different approach to iPhone protection the Fabrix Case design is more remnant of a laptop sleeve (something they also make) combining it with a plethora of aesthetically pleasing designs for you to choose from. Made from high quality cloth material and adorned with your selection of design on its exterior the case is internally lined and padded to provide a general protection from the elements, pocket lint and falls.

The case itself is designed more as a "pocket" for you iPhone rather than a case, something that I thought would again provide an annoyance more than anything else having to slide my phone in and out of it's new home each time I wanted access but it seems that unlike other similar designs Fabrix has gotten the sizing spot on. I can easily slide the phone out of it's case whilst inside my jean pocket and place it back in without any difficulty.

Another area I was worried about was actually hearing my phone ring, or feeling it vibrate whilst inside the material padded case. I've lost count of the amount of times I've not heard/felt my iPhone ringing whilst in my jean's pocket, I just never seem to feel it ringing. Needles to say I was rather surprised to find that whilst inside the case the vibrations are almost amplified, perhaps because the phone is now of larger volume and not as loose, and I haven't missed a call since I've started using it.

For someone that's looking for some protection whilst keeping their phone accessible and stylish the Fabrix Cases iPhone case is a definite winner at a price that I think is quite acceptable.

Yep I got one of these as well and can testify that's its very well made. Unfortuantely I've stopped using mine as the design that I ordered (chalkboard) looked a lot nicer on screen than what it is in real life. That's not their fault, I just wish I had ordered one of the other designs such as the one shown in the article above.

yeah im totally looking at getting one of these or getting a foodpod (i have a foofbag for my mbp so i can match it up), but these fabrix ones are too good to resist and i have a feeling they are better padded internally than the foofpods are.

would probably go with one of those oriental silky designs, hope its unisexual

i need a quick answer so if theres anyone out there with a foofpod, can u tell me if it actually has some sort of padding? as its satin lined and they dont seem to advertise on their site anything about padding (whereas fabrix cases does). at the brink of making a decision now and want to know this little detail. cheers.

There is a fine layer of padding in between the inner stain, and the exterior fabric. Not so much that it adds too much bulk, but enough to adequately protect it in my opinion.
