I've put a (very short) list of interested people at the end of this post. I'm happy to arrange the bulk buy as I'll be buying an Outdoor to go with my mini when I move house, which will be late next week or early the following one.

If anyone is interested in sooner, I am thinking of ordering a Mini Pro this week, rather then waiting but I guess I could change my mind. I figure we might as well pool resources since the postage from the US is so expensive.

Does anyone know if the Pro Model will link up with the Standard Model? And if there are any issues...

It will link up I believe, but will drop your dashboard from pro version (and the extra functions associated) back into standard mode. Thus loosing the 3 tiers etc.

They will link up for sure, but I was under the same impression as purana. I can't find an exact answer, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

thanks Purana and Zillatron,

Was asking cos I have 2 Standard Mini's... just curious.

No plans to get any Pro's yet.

Leads me to another question... Do you need a broadcast license if you are creating a paid for wireless service?

Bit of a double edge sword that question, in a round about way it's probably true. Although I do believe I have seen mention some technical ways on how to get around it etc.

I think I'll be getting a Pro Mini after all, as I think if I can push my signal up the end of my street by 2-3 houses (then when we get some new neighbours they might use it and appreciate it). I think I might get a more then 1 unit, but I will have to make do with just the 1 Mini Pro for the meantime.

Will wait for Zillatrons next order (or try and find another soul in Sydney who is about to order one and team up with them to help save on our postage costs).

Hey Z,

My Open-mesh unit arrived. It's pretty basic. Brown box, no manuals and a US power adapter Fortunately I had a convertor that allows me to plug it in here.

I basically took my Airport Extreme out of the equation and just run everything off this new little guy. I've also had one response from another computer geek that wants to help out and is willing to buy a repeater. So I'll chat with him / her and see if we can link them up.

Tried placing my mark on WeFi but it doesn't work. I've downloaded the software etc, but when it comes to marking the map, nothing happens.... any idea's?

Postage on those units is suppose to be even more expensive then meraki charges.. can you confirm?

ah yeah, freight was $26.50 US

and it came with a US adapter :/ But I figured Meraki have been changing their business model a bit according to their forum, so I wasn't confident what type of support / use I'd get down the track.

Plus I can buy 4 units for the price of an outdoor pro. But to be honest I'm not sure which is better for coverage. The small units would only go about 50m I would think, whereas the outdoor unit is suppose to go 200m.

I received another email today from a lady who is interested in using my network
