Hope you boys have a good lawyer. Apple tried to sue Think Secret for revealing a less crucial rumour than this

Dugg to see how resilient the new servers are

This has to be the biggest scoop of the Mactalks history! So if the iphone breaks where do you take it to?... Apple or your mobile provider?

Virgin don't make you sign long contracts to get their data packs, do they?

I think mobile carriers won't change their pricing much, but they might start trying to differentiate on extras - e.g Telstra might offer a plan which includes access to their hotspots, or Optus might broaden their caps to include data usage.

That's my point, your bog standard plans will be available, eg no contract data packs on Virgin. If you're looking for anything innovative or catering to the iPhone, it'll no doubt come with a price tag and commitment. We'll have a wider choice, but not necessarily better value. Nothing that turns the industry on its head, weve seen it with Blackberrys, Hiptops, and others.

I didn't with the $10/month for 300mb.. but I doubt that'll be enough once we're 3G.

I wouldn't call $10/month for 300MB "bog standard", it's light years ahead of what anyone else is offering. I use a fair amount of data and I've never come anywhere close to 300MB in one month. Granted, people will use more when it's faster, but I could use four times as much data and still be under 300MB.

I couldn't give a toss about 3G. I call, I text, I use wi-fi. I'm thinking about buying a second 2G 16gb now, actually, and getting guaranteed unlockable, mature tech rather than getting gouged a grand for a 3G, waiting for new hacks, then not even using the 3G stuff at all.

I love talking to people in my office about their 3G phones.

"Do you watch telly on it?"
"What? It's a phone!"
"Yeah, but with 3G you can do other stuff, like..."
*blank stare*
"...never mind."

This isn't a blackberry or a hiptop though, this is iPhone...that's a huge factor anywhere, especially places like here where we have been waiting and watching everyone else for 12 months...!

That's the thing that's required in the US. If they keep carrier exclusivity in the US it wont stuff us up

I imagine that it won't be like that at all. Telcos probably won't get to stock it but just have iPhone plans to lock you in for 24 months. If it is on contracts from telcos, I'll just by direct from Apple unlocked :P

I'd be happy with anything ranging from 500-700 realistically.

Great, I just bought my iPhone. Congrats to all those having the nerve to wait

Is it just supposed to be 3G, or is it going to be a totally new phone?
