This is so exciting! I'll be 12 mths into a 24 mth contract with Three, so I should be able to 'upgrade' the handset without too much fuss.
All the more reason to support the Free Australia Wireless project too, so we'll all have wifi everywhere to use :-)

Not really, it will just be like any other non-exclusive phone. I'd like to think competitive pressures would lead to useful plans, similar to those offerred for Hiptops (or whatever they are called) but have no doubt that we'll be expected to sign a decent contract to get them. Otherwise, we'll have access to the same old bog standard plans.

This is the best news I've heard all year and makes a happy end to my exam period (last is tomorrow). I was thinking of buying an iPhone from eBay/priceusa but now all i can say is WOOHOO!!
