I put it in to all the sites, so far Gizmodo and 9 to 5 Mac are the only ones to pick up on it. Give them a chance though, it's night time in America...
I'm waiting for Asher's article and to see our name there...or hello media watch...

Optus and Three either have or are in the process of upgrading to Category 8 HSDPA.
3.5G is a marketing term tied in with Category 8 HSDPA... so Joe Bloe Public can go "3.5 is more than 3, so it must be better".

True True..... But can any of the other Networks claim to have the coverage that NextG is providing.... I think not...So wether or not it breaks the bank.... I will (if supported) put it on NextG!!

Considering that none of this has been officially confirmed, this isn't much more than rumour itself.

So a 3G iphone vs a GPRS iPhone would be a rather large speed diff right?
I have the Vodafone $39 monthly 3g plan but obviously only use GPRS on it atm - So, when i upgrade to the new iphone with this plan, 3g for me, whats the speed diff?
100kb to 3.6-7mbs or something crazy? So the net should be 6-7 times faster? O.o

See, told everyone this thread would become immensely big extremely fast!

Macworld's blog is running the story now too.
They're not attributing MacTalk, but then again they probably have channel contacts too... which bodes well as more independent confirmation.
Update: No, wait, they do credit MacTalk for breaking the story. Must pay more attention before posting!
