No, that's part of their own customer service policy. If you went into a small store and the same thing occurred, they would be under no obligation to give you the product at that price, per Australian contract law.

That really really really doesn't sound like a law, sounds like store policy. There is no way retail organisations would let a law like that pass without raising hell.

Yes they did. They legitimately marked down a discontinued line, it received a crapload of exposure from WP and other sites, and DSE couldn't fill the orders, considering they were no longer stocking that line anymore.

All DSE has done is provided an invitation to treat. Even if they have taken your payment, as per the TIO, they are under no obligation to offer you the product you've paid for, if they've have taken steps to ensure a refund will take place.

Order all you like. In times gone by DSE have honoured orders of non-bulk quantities (say two or three) while that price was still online. However, that was due to their own decision, not by law.

What you say makes perfect sense. But I ordered one anyway, just in case!

Hey, if I hadn't already obtained a copy, so would I. At worst, they'll just refund your payment with an apologetic email. They're hardly going to take your money and run.

Another way to guarantee one is to walk into a Powerhouse and ask them the price of iwork 09 and then if its $5 they should be able to do a customer order and will ring you once they get them in stock. online store and retail stores use the same system so the $5 price should also be available in store for pre-orders/customer orders.
