I am also stunned at the rate of change. Seems like he goes through one Mac a month.

Didn't know you guys were keeping count. I've lost track myself. It all started with a BlackBook ...

All the money I have saved from not having to buy alcohol and lunch money (all those months of the same bloody toasted sandwich!) pays off.

Granted, I wish I could just stick with one friggin machine for more than 3 months. At least with my current phone, it has been with me for just over 6 months which must be a PB for me.

Well, I shouldn't have bought that 2nd hand iMac in the first place. But I did. So now I'll have to deal with ditching that and awaiting for my trusty refurb to arrive. I hate how I always find ideal refurbs on Friday. Delivery doesn't usually take place for me till Tuesday.

Does anyone else notice the AppleTVs on the refurb store seem to go very quickly? I've got the RSS feed for the store in Firefox, and everything I look and see an AppleTV listed in there, as soon as I click through to it, it's no longer on the Apple Store website!

I think there's only a handful and they're really popular, hence they sell out quick

I've been trying to grab one but keep missing out as well.

Has anyone purchased a cinema display from the refurb store? Wondering what sort of packaging it comes in. Would like to get one and keep it at the hotel whilst I go elsewhere during the weekend.

There is a heap of products on the apple refurb store at the moment, covering quite a range of products

Just ordered a mac mini for $899 myself.

Even a reasonable priced Mac Pro up there at the moment too.

I reckon he's looking at Aus store still. Prices have dropped (maybe since the time he bought his white MacBook, or Mac Pro).

Checked again...it was the US store....my browser has always set itself to the aus store, but some reason, that day, it was Us store....i checked my history lol.. -_- sorry. I'd thought i'd lost more than 2.5k on my mac pro in a matter of a couple of months.

That would not be a good feeling.

that is the exact same feeling when you buy a dell, only to have them drop the pricing by a further 10% (ie. before you even got the chance to use it), even on a 2.5k machine, you are looking at 250, and i can tell you the feeling sucks

I just purchased a 17" MBP from the refurb store and it looks great. I had a quick look at the specs and noticed that the battery had 42 cycles on it. I thought they placed a new battery in these... do you guys reckon 42 cycles is too much or should I just accept that?

I think you should ask there is nothing to lose. Since I haven't bought a laptop I'm not sure of the policy, though.

I'd have thought that was pretty high. But having said that my Macbook battery just gave up the ghost with a touch over 530 cycles on it.
