Bloomberg did a boo boo.
I'm sure you are all aware of the system that news agencies have of keeping an up to date bio of prominent figures, the idea being that as soon as one of them dies they can get it pushed out good and quick. I'm pretty sure that when I pop my clogs I'd be pleased as punch to find that Bloomberg have 17 pages of obituary for me, though I'm not so sure how Steve Jobs feels. Yep, you guessed it. Bloomberg accidentally posted their Steve Jobs obituary onto their live site. Find it all here Ps. for those that can't be bothered, he's not dead okay!

It's a very common practice, most of the big news agencies have a list that they keep up to date, politicians, actors, musicians. If you are well known they probably have you. It is a lot easier for them to have something that needs a six month update at most rather than cobble something together on the spot.
From my understanding some of the obit. writers bet on who will die in the coming year, more points are awarded for picking younger, less health problem folks.

I heard that Steve has been a bit sick of late. So much so that he been seen seeing doctors and specialists. This might just be just in case. But yeah sounds like he been dealing with something that could be a worry.
Questions revived about Jobs' health |

I wonder what Steve thinks of it. It's not every day that you get to read your own obituary.

Reminds me of one of the episodes of Frontline, where one half of the production team are struggling to find stories and end up killing the stories that they do find, while the other half of the production team are updating some wealthy businessman's epitaph. With a show running severly undertime, and Mike Moore dragging out an interview with an ambulance spokesman, the day is saved when they receive news that the businessman has actually died.
Reality imitating art again?

Sounds like a ploy by the multi billion dollar journalistic companies to bring back up
the the 2 month old rumor that has he got cancer again from his gaunt like appearance at WWDC08 and if he does he shouldn't have to tell the shareholders and world, but only until it fully effects his ability to run that company. It would tank the price of Apple stock. Many of those zealous multi billion dollar journalistic companies would love for Steve break down and admit he is dying because of all his insight and innovation as CEO of Apple and PIXAR. The Apple developers have developed some amazing new standards and software for social and internet multi-media broadcasting for users of personal computers and mobile devices in last 4 to 5 years. They basically have given the ability for bloggers, professionals and amateur computer users to report the news unbiasedly or make their own shows via video or audio podcasts. Many of these news stories from audio or video podcasts are days in advanced compared the reporting style of the multi billion dollar journalistic companies, they can be freely distributed off itunes and from their own personal rss feeds etc. And they are very hard to be controlled and manipulated by main stream media because of the millions of hits those news stories get from being posted on the internet via blogs, social news networking sites, rss and itunes. lol "I'll stop the ranting now" lol |

Bill Gates. He retired from MS when he did just so he'd be out of the specified period in which he can't work for another PC company by the time Steve goes.
Duh.

Yeah, when the Heath Ledger died on 2Day FM Kyle and Jackie were saying how they all have pieces prepared for when people died and they were showing the ones they had for each other which they had in the 2 Day FM database, was quite funny. So yeah, this doesnt surprise me.
I'm sure the media will start pumping out Mark Priestly ones soon, or is he not well-known enough?
