MacTalk User Survey 2008 - Results

The average MacTalk user is male, aged between 27 and 35, has a university education and earns between $30,000 and $50,000/year. He calls himself an early adopter of technology, as well as a very confident technology user and has a very strong impact on the role of technology in their workplace. He plans to spend between $1,000 and $5,000 on technology items in the next 12 months and plans on getting an iPhone as soon as it's released in Australia. Chances are he will buy that item online, but only if it's cheaper than what he can find it in a physical retail store close to him. He takes the opinions of a forum seriously, but will do other research before making a purchase.
He visits MacTalk primarily to keep up with the latest technology, but also comes in to talk with his Mac using brothers. He visits one or two other forums, with at least one of them being another Mac forum besides MacTalk. He stumbled across MacTalk via Google and likes the podcast, but doesn't listen that regularly - the same irregular listening habits apply with other podcasts he likes too. He visits MacTalk at least once a day and when he comes to MacTalk, doesn't mind seeing the ads.
When not using MacTalk, he likes to play a couple of videogames, but doesn't consider himself a gamer. He reads his RSS feeds, but not in a religious way. He owns a laptop and has been a Mac user for a few years, so he's no spring chicken when it comes to Apple.
That, is the regular MacTalker
