And the #1 source of all knowledge, Wikipedia, agrees. Never called it MacOS X as it just sounds wrong!

Good podcast as usual, would have been nice to have before I was stuck in whoop whoop all weekend, but you were too slow

With regards to OS X vs. OS Ten...I think it's OS Ten. I have always been told that and then someone pointed this out...

Open Terminal and type 'say OS X'

We'll ask Steve when he comes for the Sydney store opening!

Why is the pronunciation is even being discussed? It's Mac OS Ten. Always have, always been. Those saying OS Ex are either clueless or taking the piss.

Yes, even if that means you say you're running a Mac OS ten ten point five.

I hate to dredge up an old topic but Episode 26 was the first podcast episode I listened to and the amount of swearing was actually refreshing. I wasn't given the impression that the podcasters were out to impress anyone, to be overly formal, trying to please everyone, etc.

It was so much like what I perceive as basically interesting conversation down at a Pub or RSL on topics that I am interested in. As a result I went and listened to the rest of the podcasts. The next one (with the swearing ban) was a bit tame and... well... I suppose it sounded a little forced or unnatural. So I say if the podcasters would swear when talking Mac stuff down at the pub, why not on the podcast. It's not like they're abusing forum members, they're just using down to earth forms of the English Language, and IMHO down to earth conversations are the best to listen to.

Now to get completely up to date... Any chance of a return of the chapter markers?

i really think exhaling while you make sound was our best episode, and this was the episode that gave birth to name already taken. having said that though, i dont think the swearing was what made it good, it was the the flow of the show, the planning that went into it, and the fact that we all gave each other room to speak...

seriously, i have a huge potty mouth, but i enjoy the shows better when the swearing is toned down. i personally believe swearing is an art, and should be treated as such, not used as punctuation. swearing has returned to later episodes, just more controlled.

in terms of chapters, thats up to the lovely decryption. i'm seriously think about adding chapters to ftc (now i dont edit mactalk i have more time for ftc )just cos the episode we're planning for tomorrow will contain alot of spoilers, and the chapters will help with that.

Why do I get the feeling that because I wasn't there, it was a good episode?

dude, no!

as i said, i think you've done a great job moderating the last bunch of episodes! i also think chris is a far better host than me which is why he hosts NAT.

its not about who does what better, its about how much better a podcast is when the team comes together.
