News, News and More iPhone News!
Love it or hate it, iPhone talk is going to be everywhere for at least the next few months! After
Anthony caused an explosion of discussion on the Australian scene last week, the internet has been abuzz with rumours surrounding iPhone Take Two. In light of recent activity we have a special edition of News, News and More News today.
Exciting news for those who don't like paying big phone bills...an application called
Fring is bringing VOIP to the iPhone despite Steve Jobs not planning to do so. It does of course require Wifi and at this stage requires that both devices have Fring installed. It also supports AIM, MSN and most other chat protocols you can dream of.

9to5Mac have an interesting rumor... Apparently a source states that India will be getting an 8GB iPhone in September and a larger model 'mid 2009'. This sounds like BS to me, why would Apple wait nearly a year before giving them a bigger model? Interestingly for us, this article also claims that the deal will be with Vodafone India and that Vodafone may pick up the contract when the iPhone hits Australia, although it is likely there will be more than one carrier in Australia -
sound familiar? I call bogus...
Finally, extremely interesting news regarding release of a 3G iPhone at WWDC. O2 in the UK have today confirmed they are taking £100 off the price of 8GB iPhones until, guess when.... the 1st of June! Sound like a clearance sale to you? This makes the UK model only AUD$358 before taxes and shipping etc. If you don't want 3G, now might be the time to buy.... It leads one to wonder when we might see price drops in the US store?
