Old/New pics of Sydney's planned Apple Store

Apple's Sydney shop front

Incase you hadn't been reading MacTalk all that long, you may have missed that we'd already covered this a while back. Today, the web seems to be going off to fairfax's new image (as compared to the old image) of the planned Sydney Apple Store's shop front.

Not much has changed, apart from what looks like refinements made to make the entrance match the look of the other stores around the world.
The company handling the store's construction, Kell & Rigby, has now been granted permission from the City of Sydney Council to perform a full road closure of George Street between King Street and Market Street on various evenings in January and February next year.

The dates suggest it is unlikely the store will open before the middle of next year, but Apple has already taken out advertisements seeking staff to work there.

"The proposed closure is required to stand a 90-tonne mobile crane in the street to help install a glass facade to the premises at 77 King Street," the council documents stated.
You can read the Fairfax rehash here.

its crazy you know the guy in the blue top is in the exact same position on both photos - actually almost everyone in the first photo is in the second - and mostly in the same position - there are however two extra people right in the middle / frount of the second image....

Will all 3 levels be dedicated to the Apple Shop? If so, this could attract some attention from the other Apple Stores in the US. Imagine, if we were to have something greater than them

I'm pretty sure the entire 3 levels will be in use by the Apple store - it's pretty mammoth. But, it's Apple's first retail store, a flagship item. So it's hardly surprising.
