Default Will Apple re-invoice me if I ask them to?

Here's the deal.

I brought a MacBook Air with some trimmings which I'm waiting for patiently. Ordered online and paid by credit card - all good.

Apple have started shipping some of the stuff already, and they're invoicing me individually for each item. This is a problem because I'm planning on salary packaging the whole she-bang and need everything on one receipt to do it.

I'm going to give Apple a ring tomorrow to ask them to just issue one receipt with everything I brought at the time on it but was wondering if anyone has asked Apple to do this before (i.e. looking for a precedent so if they tell me tomorrow that it's impossible I'll be able to say... "oh but this one time....").

It almost definitely a no to re-invoicing, but there would be a slim chance of getting them to provide a pro-forma.

I tend to salary sac through a reseller, and then use the same place every year. Makes things alot easier and allows you to build a relationship with them to. And then I won't have the invoice problem.

Just have a go at their green credentials - look at all that wasted paper printing out each receipt when each one is 90 per cent white space (that ironically is supposed to be filled with a listing of numerous items).

Seriously, not putting a single order down into a single invoice is baffling and silly, I wouldn't worry about the precedent and just shoot straight about it.

Once you receive your items, you should be able to print off the E-Invoice (PDF) which gets sent to your email address.

If not, there is also a similar (duplicate) e-invoice available from the online order history page, which you can also print off.

It should have the same web order number/sales number and hence it is the same order, just on different invoices/sheets of paper.

Surely I ordered everything in good faith in the one go, so Apple could invoice me in the one go (I understand they're shipping at different times - but come on.. how hard could it be).

The sales order and the order number are the same on a couple of invoices I've received, but they're different invoice numbers which is the real problem as it's what I need to be able to package the whole lot...

I'll give them a yell tomorrow and see if they'll come to the party...

I had exactly this problem in july 2006 when I bought my Black Macbook.
The spare battery, charger and carry case all shipped first, ending up on a separate Tax Invoice, value around $380.

I called the Applestore and they referred it to the finance department and I was sent a consolidated Tax Invoice by email within 48 hours.

So Rasta, all should end well...

Just to follow up on this..

I rang Apple and the (un)helpful clerk there starts rambling

"under section blah blah of the Australian blah blah blah, Apple Australia can't reissue an invoice because it would be in conflict with section blah blah blah that I just mentioned"

I then stated I brought the items in good faith and paid for them in good faith in one go and should be invoiced in one go, but alas "section blah blah blah of the Australian blah blah blah.....etc" got me...

So.. they wouldn't reissue.. I'll just have to make do with packaging the MBA and all the other goodies will come out of my pocket.

Thanks very little Apple Australia (f*%kers!!)

Just tell your employer/whoever to accept the seperate invoices? Shouldn't really be an issue surely? Do the individual invoices all say the same date of purchase?

Sure, Apple's employee/systems were single minded about this, but so's the person/s saying you need 1 invoice, I'd say...

It's not their fault. They aren't allowed to process a transaction until they are completely ready to ship a product. Though, why they didn't just wait for it all to be ready together and ship it together I don't understand, but it is probably because it's extremely inconvenient to hold products for customers, causing management nightmares.

It's extremely inconvenient for me (the customer who, by convention is always right!) for them to have invoiced my separately.

I was told that I could have elected to have it all invoiced and sent at the one time, but I needed to select this BEFORE I ordered, and they couldn't tell me where I could select this option from... *sigh*

Who do they think they are, sales reps or bush lawyers? If they're talking about invoicing for unsolicited goods under the Trade Practices Act, they're talking out of their arses (nothing new there) and there's absolutely nothing to stop them from reissuing you an invoice and stating on it that payment has already been received. Certainly doesn't stop many other business from doing the same thing.

Just throw it back at them - tell them that sending you two receipts for one transaction is misleading and deceptive conduct under section 52 of the Trade Practices Act (it's probably not, but they were bullshitting you too).

I agree with Luke - send it back, buy from a reseller.

ITMS if I buy one song, then maybe an hour later buy another song, I get two invoices, well receipts from the time difference. I guess that's the same if i went into Myers (what ever happened to Brashes) and bought a CD, came back an hour later and bought another CD, two receipts from that.

But the ITMS differs from what i just said. I have had receipts where i have bought songs one day and more the next day and have them on the same receipt. So it confuses me too, and my debitcard, and balance when I look at it LOL

But that's the thing, the OP bought all items in the one transaction and Apple Store decided to send each as they came in and as such billed each seperately as they shipped.
