Hi,

I keep on getting a rather annoying C compiler cannot create executables. message whenever I try to compile anything. I have basic panther with dev tool, and all patches/upgrades installed (so xcode is at 1.1 and panther is patched).

There isn't much info on the net about this, and little that there is basically says sync your OS with Dev Tools. I've installed both from cds, how can in not work?

I've been trying to download xcode 1.2 through connect.apple.com but it won't let me saying "You don't have permissios to access [so&so]".

Any insights and brillian ideas are much appreciated!

Ok, here's the fix - go to ~/Applications/Installers/Xcode Tools/ and re-install Developer.mpkg but make sure to check all sdk boxes (not going the "easy install" route).

Alternative error message is - for search engine sake - ld: can't locate file for: -lcrt1.o
