Hey guys,
I've recently got my mac mini along with Tiger upgrade DVD.. However IT WILL NOT INSTALL. I put the DVD in, run the install and it says it'll restart which it does -- BUT it spits the DVD out on boot-up! I've tried every possible way of booting the mac from CD (held in C, held in option, chosen as boot device etc etc) but it just spits it out without fail. Am I the only one with this problem?

If you read what the poster said, he said he runs it (so I am guessing from within panther) and it reboots and ejects..

When you try to install from Panther it just says 'Tiger install will now restart to continue install and be happy' -- which it clearly isn't. No fair!
EDIT: Yeah sorry posted that before that other reply popped up

Either the drive in the mini is faulty, or your DVD is faulty.

Okay got it sorted and it's installing as I type this..
My mini just WILL NOT boot with a disc in the drive, is this normal? I tried the OSX.3 install / Hardware test discs and it spits it out the same way. The ONLY WAY to get it to boot from optical media is to turn off, hold in C from the second you press the power button, the disc will eject but not attempt to boot any other OS, take out disc and insert again while holding C and.. It'll run after a bit.
This isn't normal is it? Haha

that would be your problem - i have the same thing on my sawtooth - on bootup the keyboard forces the drive to eject.
Select your startup disk form within OSX then shutdown, Unplug your keyboard and mouse then boot, plug them back in when you need them.
