Will an iBook G4 DVD/CDRW Drive, fit into an iBook G3?
I just bought myself a iBook G4 DVD/CDRW drive from ebay.

I just want to know if this drive will fit and work in my G3 iBook before i pull
it apart using the ifixit.com guide.

It'll work, but since its a slot-load drive, the old drive's bezel won't fit it, and it'll look ugly.

I don't think it will fit properly - as LCGuy said, the G3s had a tray loading drive, and the G4s used slot loaders. You'll likely be able to connect it up, but getting it to fit in the hole properly and stay in there might be an issue.

I may be able to help you out - I have an old broken G3 12" iBook here. The Optical drive worked fine the last time I used it. PM me if you want it.
