Safari Block vs Pitt Helmet

I did a search for "Safari Block" and "Pitt Helmet" but strangely enough didn't generate any search results Anyhow, I've been using Firefox on my Macbook for awhile due to the extensions available but have been unpleased with its performance lately.

I've now moved back to Safari and have installed Safari Stand + Pitt helmet and Safari Block. I'm just wondering; I'm used to the Ad Block of Firefox and I rarely have to right click to "add" rules onto the FF Adblock so I was wondering which is the better of the two; Pitt Helmet or Safari Block?

I'm pretty amateur when it comes to technical stuff so I don't want to have to make my own rules as I simply do not know how to apart from putting a * at the end of it so that it blocks all ads from that site but apart from that...I can't even get Pitt Helmet working as it states that I could just right click and select "block" or along those lines but there's not that option for me when I right click on an ad.

Therefore, which would you recommend? What are the pros & cons of your chosen ad blocking app and does anyone have any idea why my Pitt Helmet isn't working? It's showing up in my Safari menu but I can't seem to do a manual block Any help would be much appreciated

You mean PithHelmet.

I've been using it for years without problem. It's been so long I can't remember, but maybe in the beginning I right clicked on a few ads which slipped through to block them manually. Since then I haven't touched a thing.

You definitely shouldn't need to go in and make complicated blocking rules by hand.

Add-ons

Thanks! Yes it was Pith Helmet I've been reading about these add-ons but I've done extensive searches in forum discussions and I cannot seem to find anything on Safari add-ons but surely this topic should have been done to death by now but I'm really stuck...I've heard that Saft also does adblocking, so is Saft a better all-in-one?

What are the differences in features between Saft and Safari Stand? What differences are the Pith Helmet to Safari Block? Any help would be great!

I would like the following features for Safari:
- Search shortcuts in the URL address bar eg. typing "g mactalk" will generate a google search results of "mactalk"
- Ability to move between tabs via a keyboard press
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Ability to save sessions so when I turn my Mac on again my browser restores that pages I was viewing prior
- History and Bookmark search
- Ability to add other "searches" eg. If I wanted to add Wikipedia search and again I go back to the first point where I can put "w safari" to do a wikipedia search on Safari
- Adblocking

Could you please recommend add-ons for the above features?
