Searching by file extension in OSX

Hi Guys

I tried searching via file extension for a particular file format and it doesn't seem to find many results (for example I have about 50 .sap files on my machine but it only picked up 2 in spotlight).

I was eventually forced to search via windows explorer which allowed me to search via *.sap.

Is there any way to search this way in Mac?

For others who haven't:

Date: (eg: today, yesterday, 12/11/2007 [day/month/year])

example: "Date:yesterday"

Name:.sap (or any text string in the name)

Kind: (Document, PDF, anything that appears as a spotlight result heading. Also, it appears to work if you do "Kind:Xcode" will list all xcodeprojs, kindages lists all pages docs, etc).

..and these are only the ones I know about.
