Hanging Tiger

Hey all,

My MB 2.0 is giving me some dramas. I rarely restart it, but lately it's been taking 5-10 mins of sitting on an empty desktop with just the spotlight icon in the top right (no bar going all the way along). Now it's been completely hanging there. I resetted P-RAM, and just now threw the OSX Tiger disc in to try and load up some utilities, but it ignores it being in there... any ideas?

Probably something third party you've installed. Boot holding down the shift key and only Apple software will load up. Does that help?

When you say it ignores the disc, do you mean even when starting from it?

Zing! Cheers Currawong, booted safely, now backing up emails like a madman and starting afresh...

@WB - That's it, I was under the impression that when the disc was in at startup that an admin screen came up.
