I always buy the APP when I first get a mac then after three years I normally let it slide as a year later it's going to be replaced anyway. Is it worth it - yes.

I bought my APP off Ebay for 60% less than what Apple was asking here. I haven't had the need to use it but i cannot see any justifiable reason Apple could give for not fixing my MBP if something happened under warranty because it is a worldwide warranty.
As long as you've registered you APP number on Apples website before 12 months have passed since products purchase date, you will be covered

Yes, i definitely have registered. I waited until 11 months in and bought it.. $220 vs $449 with education discount... hard choice lol. Though some people got written confirmation f theirs apparently, which i have not. But i can go to the Apple site and log in and my MBP is registered, so i guess that is all they would be looking for.
