So, i have a gigabit network (Speed is not an issue)
However, whenever i click here Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's Skitchit takes about 30seconds before it displays the network drives? Any idea's to speed this up? on Windows PC's it's a quick as i need it to be.. but OSX > Windows, it's VERY SLOW Note: Im just talking about connecting to the server, not the transferring of files. |

Sounds great...
Do you know how to do this with AppleScript so i can run at logon? because that would be incredibly useful.. I know the basics, but would have no clue what the command would be. Also, is there a way to turn.. Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's SkitchInto a folder, or something so i dont have multiple networked drives clogging my desktop I dont want to RAID my server, as it's a pain. but it's very annoying to have all those volumes on my desktop I suppose what im looking for is Windows style networking. With the drives shown under a single Computer and not just mounted and dumped on the desktop.. As much as i love OSX, i have to say this is one aspect where i think Windows has it beat. I dont know why anyone would want to have 9 volumes from one networked computer dumped on their desktop Why cant i have Wall-E (Folder) > Networked Drives in this folder. on the desktop? Mabye there is a simple way to do this and im just an idiot! any help is greatly appreciated. Last edited by iCameron; 22nd April 2009 at 03:04 PM. |

Not quite what you want, but you can set the finder preference not to show connected servers.
