Default A new 80G HD installed on IBook G3 won't boot

Hi, I just installed a new 80g HD on an iBook G3 700MHZ, after installing the Mac OSX 10.4 using a Firewire cable using a Powerbook, it won't boot iBook.
But is I start from the Powerbook via Firewire, it works.

Hold Option on boot, and see if you can select your new 80GB.
Failing that, try and boot from an OSX Install DVD/CD.

I already did, hold the Option and boot from the 80G, the iBook boot sometimes but freeze after trying some apps.
I also tried installing the Mac OSX but it always promt me a RE-START, SHUTDOWN OR START UP MENU. Most of the time it just hang.

What version of OS X are you trying to install on the iBook, and what model is the Powerbook? 10.5 (Leopard) is not supported on < 867Mhz CPUs.

I had a similar problem when I replaced the drive in my daughters ibook. I cloned her hard drive using superduper, put the new drive in and used the clone to copy everything back onto the new hard drive. I got a flashing question mark whenever I tried to boot from the internal drive. I used the procedure outlined at Bombich.com: Recovering from a Blinking "?" to set the internal drive as the boot drive.
