Ipod/Itunes problem

Hopefully someone here will be able to help me.

In the last couple of days, I have put my Itunes Library onto my new notebook, I used the following weblink to do it.

How to back up your media in iTunes

Basically, I did ok, managed to get the whole library onto the notebook, BUT, I did lose a few a few statistics in my itunes, including purchases from Itunes Store(when songs were purchased, amount of songs I bought), as well as when songs were last played(both bought and from own collection).

Now, I do still have these settings on my other computer, and I would like to get them onto the new Notebook, even if it means I have to burn onto another dvd the whole library on original PC(both Computers are PC/Windows).

Any help would be most apreciated.....

Hi there,

I haven't used the Backup to DIsc feature of iTunes, but I have previously had windows and iTunes, and after several formats and re-installs (thanks to how shitty windows really is) I found that the easiest way to backup/reload an iTunes library is to copy the entire music/itunes folder as-is. Then when accessed by the new machine/installed iTunes, it simply reads the library, checks everything and voila! Your library is there in its entirety...

I've even done this to share my music with others :P But the easiest time was when i switched to Mac, simply pasted the itunes folder onto my Mac, and iTunes did the rest (even all playlists, etc remain).

Hope this helps, you can probably just use a patch cable networked between your computers to copy the iTunes folder...

Jay

Thanks for you help, I am thinking I might do that(burn the library from the PC onto blank DVD and then reinstalling it again onto my notebook).
If I do this, will I have to delete the library which is on my notebook BEFORE attempting to reinstall it again on notebook, or can I just reinstall it over the current library.
