iPod touch alarm
Hey everyone,
I would like to use my iPod touch as an alarm. I sleep with my headphones in, and I would like the alarm to play through the speaker, not the headphones.
Is there a way to set the alarm to only play through the speaker, and not the headphones?
Thanks in advance,
Larry

The only way to do that would be to remove the headphones.

Thanks.

And that's hard to do when your sleeping...
Surely there is an option in the Alarm thing to make it sound through the speaker?

I think I'll post a thread on the Apple Support site.
Thanks.

That can't be good for your ears, and how the hell do you keep them in?

I have a pair of Sennheiser CX 95 In-Ears. I listen to podcasts to send me off.

Have you tried changing the "Sound Effects" under "Sounds" in "General' settings to speaker?

I know for the iPhone if you leave your headphones in it will still play through its speakers for the alarm. I would have thought the iPod Touch would do the same thing?

After a test, I found that it plays through the speakers and the headphones, which helps if my headphones fall out, but I don't think they will.

So it does what you want.. but you're still not satisfied?
O.o Huh?
Why wouldnt you want it to play through the headphones as well? It would wake you up :P
You can't disable it either way.. the iphone/ipod touch are not overally customisable in regards to these kinds of things.

You want it to remove your headphones for you.. somehow.. and also continue working exactly as it is :S
I don't get it.

I want it to play through the built-in speaker, but not my headphones.
Currently, it plays through both the built-in speaker and my headphones.

I have a first generation and it has "Sound Effects" where your volume control is.

*sigh*
Unlucky me?
EDIT: I tried turning the volume in the Sounds settings right down to about 10% and then tested the alarm again, and it's good now. I like the Marimba ringtone
Thanks guys!
