Is this normal??

I just plugged my iPod (4G 40GB) in to charge, and it just started BEEPING at me.

Could this sound be coming from the hard drive? :'( I've never heard a sound like that ever come from an iPod!!!!!

Had it happen with my iPod Nano (1st Gen) & iPod with Video (5.5 Gen) - It was just completely flat

My iPod battery's been completely flat before, yet I've never ever heard a sound even remotely like a beep come from it. Other than that the HD sounded completely fine. just scared me, thats all!
