Tall screen iPod nano leaked in Apple promo email?

Hey MacTalkers,

I just thought I would show you something I saw in an Apple promo email boasting "the world's largest running ever", the Human Race 10K. It shows the Nike + iPod connector and the shoes, with the iPod nano on the side.

Having read a certain rumour on Electronista, I now have my eyes peeled when reading Apple's "newsletters" And, as you can see below, the iPod's screen seems larger and more portrait than widescreen.

Here's the screenshot:

Thoughts?

Kinda smells like a photoshop to me.

The quality of the box, armband and simulated screen isn't cutting it for me.

Isn't that just a current generation Nano with the black part hiding the plug-in Nike+ receiver?

I think the Nano is just on an angle in the shot - it's definitely not a new one.

I took it straight from the email. I'll look for a web version now, just to prove I'm not a liar

Well, the click wheel isn't exactly circular in the pic. I call dodgy photoshop.

I got the email too, definitely legitimate.

The iPod is at an angle, and partially covered by the Nike+ arm band, making it look kind of odd.

Hell no. The only way to beat sarcasm is to fight it with sarcasm.
