ipod touch movies? how to

ok so i just got an ipod touch and i want to download some movies and put it onto the touch but the touch is only 8gb so do i just use a program like handbreak to make them smaller?

I use iSquint...
it allows for really easy user settings / quality...
just a couple of clicks and it encodes to H264 at various quality levels and even automatically puts it in iTunes too!

Probably should look at Visual Hub when I get the time - so I'm contributing back to the people behind good applications!

For the price (US$23.32) Visualhub is FAR better than iSquint IMO.
