Default HELP! Macbook not turning on!

Hi all,

Well I was on my macbook, the usual stuff, msn, safari, and mail, when the keyboard, button and trackpad all stopped working.

I didnt know what went wrong, so i closed the lid, to put it into standby mode. opened the lid, and it came out of stndby mode, still no inputs working. I then held down the power button, didnt turn it off, so i removed battery. I waited 5 minutes, and put the battery back in.

It booted up, but nothing worked still. Then is froze. took the battery out again, put it back in, and now it wont boot up, or show any signs of life.

When I press the button on the battery, all the lights come up, signalling that it is fully charged. When I plug it into a magsafe, the magsafe light goes a dull, almost unlit green.

Pushing the power button does nothing at ll, the standby light is not on, either. It is a 2.0GHz C2D macbook, 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD.

Please someone help me!

Beau

Just one question: Did you buy your MacBook about July/Aug last year?

I could be wrong and sure I'll be corrected if I am, but there seems to be a few people with MacBooks bought around mid last year who have had the same troubles. I think it may have been a dodgy harddrive overheating? My MacBook was repaired in May this year after it stopped working for no apparent reason. Good luck getting it going again!

Sounds like the keyboard cable has come out internally.

If you feel up to it and its out of warranty, you can plug it back in yourself.

Check up powerbookmedic.com guides (Beware of the dummy screws)

Well, I got dad to take it into mac1 in Brisbane. They had a look at it, and said it is still in warranty, and will take 4 business days to repair! So im patiently waiting, I didnt even know it was in warranty so this is a big bonus for me!

Thanks for everyones help, I will update this post again when I get it back.

I just had a similar situation with my MacBook last week (the dim green light on charger).
Apple tech confirmed a logic board issue.

Luckily for me my machine still works fine when connected to power.

I hope your problem turns out to be something that is simple to fix.
Sometimes all thats needed is a simple PRAM or SMC reset.
