Nestlé's itunes giveaway
Nestlé's itunes promotions is going great guns ... great if your Nestlé, not their insurer.
Apparently companies take out insurance when they run giveaways just in case the number of redemptions is huge. Well, a standard give-away has about a 5% redemption rate, the current itunes giveaway is running near 45%!
Hate to be Lloyds right now ... so lets all run and get some Smarties and KitKats

Just remember that you can only redeem up to 5 iTunes tracks per iTunes account that you use.

For those that haven't heard Nestle is giving away free iTunes Store credits...
with the purchase any specially marked pack of ALLEN’S, KIT KAT, SMARTIES, NESTLÉ confectionery bar or NESTLÉ chocolate block which offers a free song at the iTunes Store on the wrapper.
and note there is a LIMIT of FIVE free songs per iTunes Account
For more information;
https://secure.promoplace.com.au/Nes...s/Default.aspx
PS: If you eat Nestle chocolate but don't want the iTMS credits, don't throw them away... or have used your five credits, I know plenty of people would like the credit
PPS: If you don't eat Nestle chocolate, but want the iTMS credits, I also know plenty of people who'll eat the chocolate for you

I just bought 2 Kitkat chunkys from Woolworths @ $3 for the two (bundled price) with the promotion. Since the songs are worth $3.40 that's a bargain if you like chocolate and iTMS.
The limit of five free songs is abit stingy though but 45% redemption costs...

More than a few companies bid to have the right to work with Apple/itunes. Methinks Nestlé is getting a good deal out of this one ... even if their insurance premiums go up next year!

It will be very interesting to find out how much the promotion has impacted on nestle sales (very well, I suspect), and what level of repeat business after the promotion ends that nestle expects.
Will the benefits outweigh the costs?

Anyone remember when Nestlé were boycotted for their sales of baby milk formula to the 3rd world?

That story is sooo old. I remember hearing it at primary school in the early 70s!!!! Stupid thing is I overheard some people talking about that the other day as if it was a recent thing.

Off-topic a bit from the thread, I know, but why were they boycotted for selling formula to the 3rd world?
