iPod Touch - Jailbreaking and installing iPhone Apps
Hi all,
I will preface this by saying that I own an iPhone and have become quite proficient in it's use from upgrading and downgrading and all sorts of hacks. However when it comes to the iPod Touch I virtually know nothing about it.
So having said that a friend of mine just bought a 16gb Touch and went about uprading to 1.1.3 through iTunes. He now wants to Jailbreak it. Can he use the Ziphone GUI to Jailbreak his Touch? If not, what is the best way to jailbreak it? We have the restore files to get it back to 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. We can jailbreak it on 1.1.1 but would like a jailbroken 1.1.3 if possible.
Also can you get the iPhone apps (Weather, stocks, mail and maps) to work on the Touch and if so what firmware version?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

to get those iPhone app, you need 1.1.3 & the Jan software upgrade ($25)

Thank you.
Is there any way to get the iPhone apps for free?
Can the app files from the iPhone be copied over to the iPod Touch?

I do to but my friend is being a cheapskate.
I was able to downgrade my friend's Touch firmware to 1.1.1 and Jailbreak. I then copied the iPhone apps from my phone to his touch. The only one that worked was the weather app. The other apps (stocks, mail and maps) all opened then shut down and returned to the Springboard after a few seconds.
I think this was because my iPhone is 1.1.3 and the Touch is 1.1.1.
I might try downgrading my phone to 1.1.1 and then copying those files over to the Touch.
Does anyone know if this will definitely work?

I looked for them and I have a lot of sources in Installer but could not find them. If anyone know the source for them that would be great. Cheers.
