Quick Decision Needed: iPod Touch: Buy old stock or wait for New?
As the title suggests, I'm going to purchase my Touch today (I hope).
A well-known shop has "old stock" (pre-app updated) for a very reasonable price. Obviously, I need to then pay for the update. It still comes out cheaper.
What I'm wondering though is, are there any disadvantages to doing this? I'd prefer the latest build-date possible (with apps pre-loaded). However, the savings are great, and the shop doesn't have the new stock in yet.
I recall seeing plenty of issues with screens and the like, which seem to improve as time goes on.
Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

If it's cheaper, buy it. There haven't been screen issues since the first few builds.
Lazydesi, this isn't a new generation, just an update. It's the exact same model.

I'm certainly leaning that way!
If I do take the plunge ( ) look out for the "Should I JB it or wait to see what comes of the SDK?" thread

ive seen the new ones in stores, so i imagine that by now most places would have sold off the old stock to those who weren't in the know..

I have - he wants a cheap deal - so the cheapest way would be to buy the old stock at the discounted price, jailbreak the Touch and load the apps. Am I missing something?

If the savings are great.. and you dont want the extra size.. the get it....
jailbrake or buy the apps.
if you want bigger memory size then buy the newer one.

Well, I made a decision (thanks all): BUY!
I called to confirm it was in stock, and arrived to find out that it wasn't! The savings are no longer a factor, and the waiting continues...
