Hey, whats the point of of jailbreaking an ipod touch? is it to run other applications? cant you create apps, the same way that you create apps for the iphone (even easier with the .sdk coming)

I am just confused as to why people jail break there touch.

Nothing confusing about it... at this time, an unjailbroken Touch runs only Apple apps. That's it.

There's some obvious apps missing that people like to use on their mobile devices, such as games and e-book readers. *Frustratingly* missing. The iPod touch has amazing potential and the third party apps you can run on a jailbroken unit demonstrate this.

The SDK is still a wild card at this point and we don't know how much freedom Apple is going to give developers.
