iPod Touch. Buy? (here or o/s?) Wait?
As I'm sure I've mentioned in other posts, I'll be relocating overseas for at least a year. I've been hanging (like the rest of you) for an iPhone. The problem is, I'm going to South Korea. A jailbroken iPhone simply won't work on their closed mobile networks. Unless the rumoured agreement between KTF and Docomo is approved by Apple, I'll be waiting a long, long time.
SO, I thought I would take the plunge and buy a touch. I can pick one up at a retailer and claim my 10% back from the TRS, so that's all good. What's got me is: Is it worth it?
I'm sure an update is imminent. How imminent is anyone's guess. Do I take the plunge, or do I wait it out?
Opinions, please

I don't think there will be an update for a bit..
my out of the hat opinion is based on
- the current form factor is excellent
- the iphone hasn't been update yet, and it will be before the iTouch
- Apple just made available all the software that gimped it in the first place...
- what's there to change?

Besides all that the Touch is slightly cheaper in Aust than Sth Korea, and the tax back makes it all the better....
I think the only thing that can ruin your day on this purchase is the iPhone release in Sth Korea is sooner than you expected... and I expect that, like Japan, we are both a way off.

Thanks Kuma.
I'm disappointed with the Apple prices in SK.
How does Japan compare?

With the current exchange rate, prices in Japan are pretty good compared to the US. Actually they were when $1 = 116 yen, but I guess its about even these days.

You don't ever listen to a radio on public transport? Used it fair bit on my Nokia-800.

You watch 1seg TV on your phone on the trains in Japan
Not sure if people really want to have radio. Sure, it's a nice to have feature, but when you carry your own music around I don't think radio is what you'd want to be listening to.

Meh, they could re-add support for that iPod Radio Remote that worked nicely with my old iPod.

Huy isn't in a position to buy anymore. I'll happily take the deal if anyone else is considering it. PM me!
