TV Shows on AU iTunes? When?
Now that Canadians have been given the ability to purchase TV shows on their iTMS, how long do you reckon it will be before it comes to Australia? And (as has been noted on other threads) will there be anything worth buying?

Reason: It's TV shows - not movies

rofl, i agree with macmatt,
although it would be great to see American ones sold here. I wonder if apple could legally do that if they wanted to. I dont really see any reason why not, apart from pressure from the local tv networks.

Unless we get them at the same time as the US and its a decent price, I will change channels (From Channel BT, that is! )

It won't be at the same time as the US screening. Overseas distribution contracts are worth far more to the US networks than sales through iTunes. The UK store has next to nothing, and still no local content. Don't get your hopes up.....the tv networks aren't going down the same route as the music industry did with Apple.

if there is content you want just sign up for a US iTunes account, the content will be cheaper anyway.

wont happen here for the reasons already mentioned hell quite a few abc shows you can already get as podcasts. why would you pay for video when we have dl limits speed restrictions, and lower than dvd resolution. Think ill stick with dvd's for a while yet. Take a trip down to your local jb sometime and youll find some complete seasons of tv shows for 30-40 dollars, on a disc which you can do anything with, sounds good to me.

Apple should team up with a DVD retailer and sell Digital + DVD versions as a package, pay....$70-80 for a full season and you get digital downloads as they air and the DVD at the end when its released.... Could persuade more people into buying the digital versions if they know they'll get a hardcopy at the end...

What shows are actually made here that'd be worth buying?
Now, i'm not much of a TV-head, but all of my viewing can be done online via abc vodcasts and sbs streaming video of the same shows.
