iPod Touch dead pixel

Hello,
I bought my ipod touch on the 3rd of this month. Today i have notice it has a kind dead pixel it shows up as red on black but if i have something white underneath then it doesn't show up at all.
Would i be able to claim this under the 14 day DOA warranty?
Thanks

Generally no.

Apple have no official policy on dead pixels for iPods.

If you bought it into me, i'd be inclined to get in contact with Apple, but expect them to say no.

i will try the software restore because this red pixel appear right before my eye.
However i will attempt to get a replacement if this doesn't work as i've just spent $419 on something thats faulty.
I will post back as to how it went.

It's more of a 'defect' than the unit being faulty. It can still carry out all the tasks it's supposed to do, but just with a red pixel in the way.

But I too would be pissed if it were my touch.

I have one dead pixel in the middle of my screen but it's very much overshadowed by how awesome the iPod Touch is.

i had a dead pixel, called them up, they said yeah we'll replace it.. i said usually i wouldn't complain but i bought this for watching movies... i was really nice, thanked them, and got my way.

I found them great, give it a shot.. just need to send back the ipod now for the new one.

Also, if u have purchased other stuff online, this probably helps as they can probably see all our orders when u give them the ipod serial no.

If you can't get it DOA'd, take it into a Service centre. There is a CompTIA code for Defective pixels... they should be able to cover it for you fine.

This thread is hands down funny.

If people do not understand that dead pixels are generally not covered under warranty, they are living under a rock..

I understand it's not covered under warranty Jedda.
But it's quite simple.
I paid $419 for something that in my eye is not worth that much because it's damaged.
Either way if i can get it replaced i will if not then i guess not and i'll live with the fault :-)

there's a fault description / code for "defective" and "faulty" pixels... most service centres will cover it.

You never guess what happened today.
I dropped it face first on to concrete nothing happened to the ipod not even a scratch nothing at all. I go to turn it on to make sure it's all ok and turns out the dead pixel now works hahaha easy fix.
