Hi, just bought a black ipod nano and yeah its a nice device.

Only issue I'm having is organising the cover flow view. Having spent time organising my albums iTunes I can't seem to find a way to reflect cover flow in the ipod. The problem is I'm getting duplicatee ablum art on the nano - which makes it difficult to scroll through music.

Has anyone come across a solution?

Are you viewing by song rather than album/artist?

I have the same issue. But I didn't notice until now. Classical Chillout 2 bought from itunes appears 5-6 times. It seems to be sorting by artist so CD's with multiple creators are being listed individually. I don't know how to change the cover flow settings if there are any.

Does the nano Coverflow work the same way using CoverFlow in iTunes?

I had to select relevant albums as "compilations" in iTunes to avoid multiple coverflow images.

Either that or you could use the relatively new "album artist" field and enter "various artists".

The iPod nano appears to sort by Artist only, and not by ablum name, and this results in duplicate album art in cover flow. Whereas in iTunes my albums are nicely sorted with single albums.

I can't see a reason why Apple has done this. Seems illogical to me.

I've also selected complications and used various artists in the album artist field a still not correctly reflected in the iPod nano.

if you've grabbed covers from a few different sources - maybe replaced an old image with a better quality one, then you can get this happening.

or if you have a slightly different meta data any where between tracks this'll happen,

had a quick look through my nano and one album that was 'duplicating" was the downward spiral. looking at it in itunes it looked fine, but then when selecting all tracks and hitting apple-i, itunes came back with the "multiple tracks" warning... so obvioulsy something was wrong somewhere -probably one track had 2 images saved to it, or one track had an extra space after the word spiral..

either way, i updated the album and it appeared only once on the nano in coverflow.

i guess you might have to do that to all your albums.. a simpler solution: dont use coverflow. its pretty but pointless.

I love Everything about my new nano. So much polish right down to the easteregg in the vortex game on the first level with "infinite loop" on the wall.

But coverflow is a total abortion. Ive seen in alpha's more useable than this

Sadly coverflow in itunes has never reached the usability of the original coverflow by.. steelskies(? ).

So is there a "compilations" selector on the nano or any of the new ipods then?

How do you play a ministry of sound album? or any soundtrack??

I can actually reproduce the cover-flow in itunes by sorting by artist - which shows multiple album covers. It appears this is exactly the way nano sorts music in cover flow and not by album name.

I have paid careful attention to the meta data and album art for my imported Albums and complications and so I don't think this is an issue when syncs. Hopefully apple can 'fix' this problem in an update.

I also wasn't able to sync my entire library to the nano, I wonder if I should of selected this when it first sync'd..
