iPod Classic Volume Limit
This is really pissing me off!! I'm trying to reset the volume limit in my 80GB iPod Classic, but it won't stick to where I'm setting it. I have followed the instructions in the manual from Apple's site but it just will not stay where I set it. If have to volume half way down I can't hear it at all.

I'm so annoyed I'm about to throw the stupid thing against the wall!!

I'm curious to know of any other annoyances you have with it which may cause you to throw it against the wall.

A reboot might be the thing to do before restoring it.

People on the Apple forum are complaining of the opposite problem. Sounds like we need a firmware update.

I've read on Endgadget some people complaining how the max volume on the Classic is too soft! Makes listening to classical music a tragedy to listen to.

This used to happen to me with my 5G - it pissed me off to no end. Never did resolve it...

im having this problem also.. it is asking for a combination- I entered 0000. but it wont stick to the volume I set.. how do you change the combination? because that could be the problem..
I noticed you can decrease the limit- but cannot increase it.. now I am stuck with an even lower volume limit

I live in the US and just bought an 160gb classic. I do not know whether this will help nor have I had the time to surf this forum to see if this issue has been resolved.

If this is redundant, my apologies.

Go to this link and read page 29. It worked for me. I hope it works for y'all.
