Windows format iPod-formatting strangeness
When I connect my Windows formatted 30GB fifth generation iPod to my PC, a message appears saying it needs to be reformatted.

What can I do to fix this?

The iPod syncs and appears fine on my Mac.

This is because Windows doesn't recognise HFS+ (Mac disk format) and so Windows wants to helpfully change the format to one it can read.

Mac OS X however can read FAT32 (which all iPods come formatted as now I think?) and HFS+ so it won't prompt you to reformat it.

You will need to decide if you want a Mac iPod or an iPod that can do both and format it appropriately.

Formatted as FAT32-and seem to works like I described sometimes, but mostly it syncs and appears OK.
