US iTunes TV Shows - What are you watching?
It seems like a few people here have managed to set up accounts on the US iTunes store and are downloading TV shows. If you have, what are you watching?
At the moment I'm watching: - Heroes;
- Veronica Mars
- Raines
- Grey's Anatomy
- Rules of Engagement
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I'm at the start of season 1—I never caught the whole Buffy thing when it was on TV); and
- The Dresden Files (but only occasionally—I'm not addicted, but its okay for some mindless entertainment);
Of course, I'm enjoying the above now on my AppleTV.

Engineering an Empire, plus the last 2 weeks of freebies :-) And when there was nothing on tv the other night, we bought an episode of American Dad (Stan is a closet figure skater!). I bought one episode of Drive, but couldn't really get into it.
There are some fantastic shows on there, most of which will never see the light of day here.
Now I just need a tv with composite in and an Apple TV :-)

If you don't have a US credit card you can set up a US iTunes Store account by redeeming a US iTunes gift certificate.
I initially bought a couple of gift certificates for myself while on holiday in the US. Since then I have topped up my account with gift certificate codes purchased from Hogeweg80.com.
US gift certificates and/or their codes can also be purchased from places like eBay, or if you have friends in the US you can get them to purchase the gift certificates for you.

At 12.38 for a US 10$ card, that makes it cheaper to buy music through the US store then the Australian store (US 99 cent tracks are about $1.23AU verse $1.69AU for a copy through the local version). Apple time to bring the prices down on the Australian site I think.

I've downloaded most of the freebies, but I doubt I'd pay for video content. I'd rather rip my own DVDs for a higher-quality DRM-free version.

This article in APC points out another way of setting up a US iTunes account:
Quote:
They simply need to access the US iTunes store by changing the “My Store” country at the bottom of the store homepage.
Then, it's possible to buy movies and TV shows by signing up for the US paypay.com account with a US address (a lot of iiNet customers are living at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, by all accounts) and then funding the account with an Australian credit card. Apple then counts you as a US customer.
Be aware that you should carefully read Paypal and Apple's terms and conditions and make your own decision about whether this method of buying content from the US iTunes store is appropriate.

two accounts on iTunes...
I just have a question for those using the US iTunes - do you maintain your Aus iTunes account at the same time and does it download into the same iTunes database? Just trying to figure out how this would work in practice...
