Following up from:

my new 60GB iPod Photo has arrived, and so far I like it... If the battery lasts I'll be more happy......... I thought this was a good opp to start asking people how their iPod Photos are going?

Amazingly the battery life doesn't just meet Apple's 15 hour claim - it EXCEEDS it!

The colour screen is absolutely gorgeous - I couldn't imagine using one without it (iPod photo is my first iPod).

By the way, is it normal to have to wait through a boot sequence if you haven't used it for a day or more? I would have expected it to instantly turn on anytime... and if not for the lengthy bootup to have some kind of startup progress or something...

Tell you what, I think I've used the slideshow capability more than I have the music side of things (currently building a house so it's been legendary for showing pickies to people).

That startup thing is to be expected. My third gen iPod does it too.

I would imagine it's so it can cut the power to the memory, and thus save battery when it's not in use.

I'm really happy with my 60gig iPod photo but have a few disappointments:

- can only show slideshows on TV, not coverart or the current song
- sound quality is worse than my 3G 20gig iPod
- freezes too much & is slow (looking forward to software updates)

also wanted to ask is anyone using an iPod photo with a remote control? Because whenever you restart from pause, the right earphone blasts loudly for a fraction of a second before regaining normal volume.

But don't get me wrong, it's an awesome machine.
