iPod "rebooting" when starting podcast...

I loaded up on some podcast before heading out on a trip. It's a 60GB video, formatted for the Mac.

Music seems to be playing fine, but some (most) of the Podcast seem to be causing the iPod to shutdown to the apple logo and reboot (hope that explains what is happening).

TV shows seem fine. Shuffle and normal music playback seem ok.

I plan to try a full reset when I get home and can hook up to my iMac, but in the mean time anything I can try while traveling, and has anyone has a similar problem.

BTW, never had so much as a hiccup with this iPod in the past.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks Jeremy,
Is that something I can do on the pod or will I need to change them in iTunes when I get home?

Jeremy put me on the right track! A little searching on the Apple site found someone with the same problem. Quick fix for me appear on the road was switching off the EQ. They played no problem. There were some other tips there, but this worked fine for me.

Thanks all for the help.

Chris

Yep, I had the same issue and it shits me. Turning off the EQ is a fix, but I hope Apple remedies it soon, as I like keeping my EQ on Rock and it's a pain to change it back every time I listen to a mono podcast.

This was mentioned on the TWiT podcast.

If a podcast is released in mono format then the EQ needs to be turned off, but if it is released in Stereo then it should run fine with the EQ on. Problem is stereo creates a larger file size, so most podcasters are releasing mono ones.
