Hi All,
My Invisible Shield has just arrived but I am having some second thoughts. I was wondering if anyone has applied one of these babies to their ipod yet. Two things I am concerned about :
- There is a larger than usual gap between the click wheel and the ipod on one side of the wheel. I'm worried that water will get into this gap during the application
- I want to make sure this thing will come off if I ever want to remove it? It seems pretty permenant to me.
It seems like the ultimate protection for my ipod (I do have ipod socks) but I'm just a little nervous about applying it.
Anyone tried this?
Cheers,
Mel

I don't really like the look of them . They look like you've just left that bit of plastic that comes on the iPod on. I'd rather keep it in my socks and cocoon. I don't understand how people scratch them so easily anyway. My 30GB iPod photo doesn't have a single scratch on it... How do people scratch them?

Why on earth would Apple do that? They have done nothing wrong, it was the end-user who decided to play around with putting 'extras' on the iPod, so why would Apple replace the iPod if you make a mistake?

The amount of water that you would use wouldnt be enough to damage the ipod

Invisible sheild works great!! I am sure there are NO scratches on the front of my ipod video as human hands have never touched the surface. i did not remove the protective film untill i had the sheild ready to go on, and are very happy with the result. i was a litttle concerned before i started but after reading reviews on the apple forums about them in the US I had a go and are very pleased.
the film is very thin, so thin it is hard to show people where it starts and ends. And VERY VERY tough. High gloss finish.
Take your time to apply, use as much water as you dare, and follow the instructions. I had no troubles at all and are confident enough with it now to put my ipod in a pants pocket with keys etc, there will be no damage.
A GREAT product.

I must say, it doesn't look too bad now that they've left the clickwheel cover off. It actually DOES look invisible now (which it definitely didn't before). I might go full circle and actually consider buying one of these...

The product is $24.95 (USD?) plus over $60 in postage. Why would anyone pay that?...

Let me check the site again. It gave me the option of choosing between two methods of postage, both over $60.
Can I ask: Are you happy with yours? How long did it take to arrive?
Edit: Nope, it's charging me over $87.

Took about five days to arrive (weekend included). I'm very happy with it, but the application of it is not something taken lightly... set aside a few hours, and have some kind of stress ball or punching bag nearby... LOL
Edit: Ooohh my 100th post... yay me!
