It is taking my G4 iBook approx 12 hours to import 400-odd contacts. I am using the import script within Address Book. The contacts are in a txt file, which has been created from an Entourage export. Is this normal?

FYI, this is a step in my process to sync contacts from Entourage into my iPod. (1) Entourage to Address Book, (2) Address Book to iPod via iSync. I only do it once every month or so.
